About Captain Jayneway

I’m Captain Jayneway, lover of life and adventure…

Ever since despairing of the 9 – 5 working day quite a few years ago, I now work freelance as a motion graphic designer and photographer. My penchant for spontaneous travel and adventure first began when I, along with the entire workforce at the TV company, got made redundant from my job as a broadcast graphic designer in London well over a decade ago now. So, with a big fat cheque in my hand and a good shove in the right direction, I headed off to Australia on my own. I spent all the money, the exchange rate was fabulous back then, and I had the time of my life. I’ve never looked back since, and that trip was to change the course of my life forever…

Working freelance gives me the freedom to do what I want, when I want, and that’s the only way I can sail this ship. Once you’ve had a taste of what’s out there, you can never go back…

Since taking off, I’ve been fortunate enough to visit quite a lot of places, including; America, Fiji, Australia, Tasmania, New Zealand, Italy, Hungary, Austria, Greece, France, Slovenia, Spain, all the Balearic Islands, Holland, Singapore, Egypt, Cyprus, Germany, Thailand, Switzerland, some places more than once. I’ve also recently taken the time to see more of my own back yard, which I seem to have neglected to explore in great detail before, England, Wales, Ireland and probably one of the most awesome places on earth, Scotland. Apart from all the day to day bullshit in this country (lets face it, we’ve got it easy compared to most people), the UK really is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

So I think it’s fair to say I don’t sit still much, frankly, life’s too short for that. If money was no object, I dream of just spinning the globe, and throwing a dart at it, the next destination being where ever the dart lands. Unfortunately it never seems quite as simple as that, though you can pull it off to a certain extent, and that is the best way to travel. Spontaneous and impulsive, and to a degree, unplanned.

There’s so many places to see, I don’t know if you could do it all in one lifetime, but you can have a bloody good stab at it. I’m going to keep on traveling for as long as I can, I never get tired or weary of it. The mind-blowing destinations, the arresting people, the cultures and the absolute construction of your own character. The Life experience is what it’s all about, and I’m going to fill my boots… Come with me…
